Remind Me in 3 Days....

I'll be the first to tell you that I've been waiting for this album since I first heard "Bang Bang"(their second single), and since they didn't release as much mixtape and other material like many others these days, I found myself listening to the same Knux tracks over and over again. You may think this makes me bias, but if we are gonna talk why I may be bias lets me also say that they are New Orleans natives also. That is not what makes me interested in the Knux though, it was their heavy guitar riffs or their break beat influenced beats. This album takes us back to a time when not only was all of the album produced by one person, but when the actual artists created their own music similar to that of rocknrollas(sorry I'm really ready to see that movie). Every track has the same feel which is good because, in my opinion the main reason why cds flop now a days is due to consumers only liking one of two singles and the album not being similar enough to be liked by a majority of a population. The Knux have accomplished to give the same feel on each song, but change it up enough to be a whole nother experience. Not just saying this to say this, but the album follows that of a night at a club and the roller coaster ride that may be, from the Line, to the parking lot to the bedroom the morning(afternoon) after(literally). I very much suggest this album to all readers out there looking for new great classic music. A must buy(support good music people).

Last Couple of Days

Had a busy and exhausting couple of days which included filming for my FLC class "Filming the Metropolis", since this is basically the only time I will probably mention this class on here I would just like to mention that everything is cool about this class except that we don't get credits for this class and credits=only thing that matters in the school part of college, therefore FLC class=nothing.

After finishing the bulk of the filming on Thursday and Friday, I went home for the remainder of Friday and basically all of Saturday. Friday was some hectic running around, sneaking into a football game, seeing some old friends from high school, watch some undeserved fireworks, joked about my friends car blowing up due to said fireworks, and then more running around. Got to relax a little bit with the girlfriend, and the perfect egg double decker sandwich.

A little more exhaustion came while getting my hair twisted(the only down fault to dreads), not once but twice.

Ending on a good note(all have been good notes just tiring good), I got one of my last birthday presents, two more to go, and also copped The Knux debut album today, which led to the cool last photo at the bottom.

Review of The Knux coming soon. Peace out
Now time to revise a paper that's due tomorrow.

Top of the Money

Curren$y dropped a new track from what might be his album, so you know it's gonna be called "This Ain't No Mixtape". Real good track.

Man Bites Dog

When you think of a Mockumentary, you mostly think of comedies such as The Office, but if you go in thinking "Man Bites Dog" is a comedy, you are in for one hell of a surprise. Instead of following some comedic characters around on their regular day, the "crew" follows around a lunatic murder and robber on his normal day while he did his work. "Man Bites Dog" has all the makings of a great film. The acting in this film is believable to the point that a multitude of viewers(me being one), had a hard time believing that it was actually fake till the very end of the film. Never once did I ever feel the need to take a bit of a break from watching, but it is that intense. Trust me when I say, it is not for the faint of heart, and if you feel uncomfortable watching certain things with violent, sex, and rude humor, this contains all three.

One of the things that make this film so creepy and disturbing is the ability to believe that the lead actor, Benoit Poelvoorde, is actually a lunatic criminal. From his awkward humor, body shape, facial features, to his egotistical attitude all combine to create a memorable and classic character. I swear if I was ever to see him walking down the street I would piss my pants. Even looking at him in behind the scene pictures and interviews it was still a little bit scary.

All in all check it out, if you think you can.

Musical counterpart

Sticking to the brutal and hard to take I bring you Rosco P. Coldchain's  "There Will Be Blood". If you have ever been a fan of the Clipse, then you have heard of Rosco P. Coldchain on two of their best songs(at least to me) where he absolutely kills it, and on this mixtape he does the same on every track.

Birthday Gifts pt 1

Decided to post the things I've bought myself, and one friend's gift, and also talk bout my weird day in terms of what is normal. Lets start with the day shall we. First, I'm not boycotting Wish anymore(long story for why I was). Either the girl working there, who is much older than me, was flirting with me or is a really good salesman, but after somehow seeing a picture of something really strange I decided to buy some new Alife Everybody(shoes). But not before buying something for my babygirl first. Not gonna say what it is, but it is really red, something I wear a lot, and not shoes.(there's your hints bay)

new series 5 Dunny from Kid Robot(bought from Criminal Records)

new Mishka Head in the Clouds beanie from Digital Gravel(thanks Liz)

new Alifes(had to do it)

all together now

spoiler shot for my baby.

Just take it easy

That's what I learned about life this past weekend, after trying to go to the Grand Opening of Sk8tique and finding out it was a RSVP only type of thing. BTW. Sk8tique is a new Skate Boutique in Little 5 Points across the street from Stratosphere.  Check it out when you in the area. Anyway, before waiting in line for no reason. Me and Liz.... sorry Liz and I went to Wish just to go in there and look at some shoes and try on one jacket, and then stumbled into Criminal Records which is probably gonna be visited by me a lot. I mean a lot. Even got a new Dunny from there. I'll post a picture of that when I get all my other birthday stuff. Fast forward to waiting in line, hearing Asher Roth perform, and going back to The Commons. Turns out there was a free party going down at Figure 8, and two cute girls(no pictures of them) and Adam's drunk ass talked us into going. Glad I went, and just think I would have missed out on that if I went to the first plan.

Only photos I got from the day.

Saturday was even weirder. Waited around to go home till later in the day, got there washed clothes, hung out with the fam, found out they put a big crib in my room for Celly, saw some old crazy friends, friends hung on to Celly like the best thing ever(he is btw), and then went back home to hang some more. All in all a good weekend.

And just to hold it down for my new city, here's a video of Asher Roth and The Cool Kids freestyling in that thing I was talking bout earlier.

Birthday Weekend

I finally turned 18 last Thursday, and since then I been busy. I guess it is just not being in my dorm for a bunch of hours either doing nothing or working, but still it felt kinda great to be that busy for a little while.

Went out for dinner at a sushi restaurant around Sandy Springs/Roswell, and got about 7 different rolls(4 of the bakery rolls though). I really wish I could remember what the place is called right now because everyone should try these rolls for themselves. Whoever came up with them is a genius. They also gave me some fried ice cream for the bday. Delicious as well.

The lovely Bakery Rolls.

All the other different pieces of sushi.

All Done

Woke up the next morning and decided I needed to go back to the dorm to charge the curve before it died on me. Luckily my mom was driving to work so she dropped me off at Buckhead around 7-am. Went back to the dorm, charged the phone, laid around for a while then went back home for the day

My sister came that night too, and basically as soon as she came in she was just like this.

Went back home that night, and crashed in my own bed again. Next day.....you guessed it went back home.

I don't feel like explaining the rest of this due to the fact that I am getting my hair done right now, and my back hurts so yeah.... basically chilled on Saturday, went to the park and visited the girlfriend on Sunday, got some good icecream from Cold Stone. Listened to the new Murs album, it is great btw, go out and cop that. Then went back to the dorm.

Vanilla with Snickers=Great Ice Cream

Next up.... another week of work and fun and some noice gifts.

Peace out.
