Lovewright Co. Got Some Ill Tees

Late Night Blog Roll

Had a good good friday, just chilling with cool people around downtown Atlanta, mainly with the homey Jessie. I'm gonna post up and talk more about it later, but one of the outcomes was that I saw my homie Lucy who was bout to go get some new converse. I had told her something along the lines of me not really following sneakers because I honestly can't afford them. While that may be true, I always seem to check Standard, whenever I do get some shoe money I'll be up there.
Also I always check (2)dopeboyz for some music. I'm still looking for that How Fly from Spitta and Khalifa Man. XV's new tape should be dope though.
And this is something that is just funny as hell.

A MJ Tee I Like

Iron Man Anime

This right here is dope, the Wolverine one? Ummmm not so much to me, went a little far with it. He looks like a vampire. In other movie news, I think there will start being movie nights somewhere in GSU on the regular.

Jay Electronica - Dear Moleskine

Jay Electronica ripping up Just Blaze beats need some ill visuals, and that has been provided, and this is just a trailer. Wow, what a tease this is.

Inspiring Brands

neighborhood 2009 fall winter wdwyfw lookbook 3 NEIGHBORHOOD 2009 Fall/Winter Log.02 W.D.W.Y.F.W. Lookbook
Any big streetwear buff knows about the brand Neighborhoods coming from Japan, and the hype is well deserved. The W.D.W.Y.F.W. line for Fall/Winer 2009 is presented beautifully giving it's followers an experience to go with the classic yet modern articles of clothing, not just an attitude. Something to be learned. If you get real imaginative you can even think of a story to go with it....stories derived from just a catalogue, amazingly sick. This is somewhat necessary to truly present a collection from just images, which is to be said due to the availability through internet. Enough of my rant, peep it out.

C.R.E.A.M.

The artistic process can never be a complete science, it's more of a flow of unforeseeable(btw, holy shit that's actually a word?). This can be seen here, what started out as a chance to learn from an amazing drawing found in Avant Garde(thanks goes out to Lochness), quickly became a symbol of greed from my perception, which then quickly became my opportunity to add to something classic.
It's also amazing the affects music has on the hand ranging from Gucci Mane, to Biggie, to Wu, and now listening to Curtains, but as I sit here taking in the audio of some great music, and visuals of disgusting Johnny Test. I don't hate a lot of stuff, but this show gets on my last nerve, so I think Mr. Greed is gonna lose a cheek or something.

Upcoming Brands To Follow

I've had Herds of the Fathers on my blog bookmarks ever since I found out bout it through The Award Tour. On first looks, I thought it was another clothing brand that was going to grow from tee shirts to more, but come to find out the guys over there, Jay and Tobi I think, are actually on their way to producing leather bags and other accessories. To say I have no idea how you get that done is an understatement since I'm still working on what tee shirt blanks I wanna use, AAA btw. Either way this is just a post of congratulations and dopeness, and going on the buy list as well. And if seeing someone's dreams come to fruition, they have Allure by Jay-Z up on their page. If you don't see the great juxtaposition there you sir/ma'am are blind.

The Buy List: DVD Edition pt1

One of the best things in life is just kicking back and watching a good movie on a nice sized screen. The latter part of that is key because youtube cannot compare to anything like a flat screen, that is unless you have yourself an incredible desktop screen. Therefore a sweet dvd library is a must have, and saying this in one post is impossible so expect this for as long as I'm blogging.

First up is Scorsese's classic film, Casino. In the summary the sentence, "Martin Scorsese's masterful look at the Mob in Las Vegas details the rise and fall of a casino kingpin." "Details" is the right word to describe this story. In many ways it's a how to book that would be aptly titled, "How to Make Loads of Money in 1970's Las Vegas and How to Fuck It Up". It has all the right things in a gangster movie, and probably is one of the films that changed the genre of gangster flicks. The smart main character play marvelously well by De Niro, the misguided people that ruin it all, and a unknowledgeable naive woman. The feature that makes it deeper than most other films I've seen in this genre is the type of hustler queen played by Sharon Stone. I won't into any more detail because I'm actually watching it right now, but more chances than not you have seen this film before.
Going up second is such a weirdly, idiotic, yet smart comedy of The Three Amigos. I've never seen so many memorable scenes back to back causing me to not only stop laughing but stop breathing all together. That's honestly the best thing I can say about the film, this is what a comedy is suppose to do, and nothing does it better than a classic age of Martin, Chase, and Short. It's a great film to watch on that rainy night with all your friends in the room laying on bean bag chairs drinking on something, if you get my meaning.

The Buy List

For any college student that has an extra amount of cash for any reason, and doesn't want to spend it too quick, and to be honest I know what it feels like to spend $50 just on food, and random other snacks and goods from gas stations. It's a similar pain in the butt as constipation after eating a 18oz steak, but far less satisfying in the end because on one hand at least you had a really good steak for maybe like $18; at least it isn't $50.

Another thing as a human being we have wants, and some are of those wants are bound to cost a little bit of mula. One of my many mottos of, "Treat the whole year like ya birthday. If you really want it, buy it.". My father taught me that one, when he came home with a Honda CBR 900, and then again when he bought two more bikes after he got cut off while riding. This isn't a story really about those bikes, but more an example of financial security. I've never seen my dad spend outrageous money, or have too many big purchases so I factored that into the equation as well. So I began writing everything I really wanted down on a list, which helps me save for it. Also another good technique in being somewhat cheap is to have the amount of money to buy ten of them, and then only buy one. I'll post up things from the list later.

Mos Def The New Danger

Being that I am going to be attending, vibing to, and rocking out at a Mos Def, I felt it was necessary to go back and listen to some of the Mighty Mos' catalogue. While some people automatically think of the solo debut "Black on Both Sides" the sounds of the sophomore album come in vividly clear to my mind.
It may be the balance between rock music, soulful singing, and hip hop lyricism, but I find "The New Danger" to be Mos' most well done and enjoyable album out of the four he has released so far. I'm not saying "Black on Both Sides" isn't a classic in the hip hop world, but the crossover(used for lack of words) music presented in New Danger satisfy me to the essence of my soul.
I say this because while sick rhymes will always be great in my book, nothing beats a great guitar riff, a funk guitar, and some banging drums. In the deepest regions of my being I have the soul of a rock n' rolla. There is just so much more emotion emitted from a song when it combines that of live music. Combining this with the already charismatic and powerful energy of Mos Def makes this album one of the most hard hitting collection of music I own. Every song speaks a different emotion from the one before it. From the hopeful melodies of the opening track "The Boogie Man Song" to the anger felt behind "The Rape Over" and "War". My favorite song for a late night though is "The Panties" which is baby making music in the sense of Al Green or Marvin Gaye. As well, if you ever wondered what Mos Def would sound like singing a blues tune go no farther than Blue Black Jack. This is also my favorite song out the whole album. The Guitarist honestly plays a solo that sound like he was possessed by Stevie Ray Vaughn, so that makes it a good god almighty rating in my book.

August is Going Down

While containing the last two weeks of my summer, August is showing more potential for great nights than all the other months combined. How is this possible other than the fact that I am moving back into my own world of college on the 14th? It is the possibility of not one, not two, but three great concerts, and all within the first two weeks. Instead of just blurting out names, I feel like actually listing them in terms of personal hype level.

please excuse the flier, this is not the flier for this show obviously.
On the top of my list for a good night is the combining of an old favorite of mine Mos Def, and the person I feel is the best(point. blank. period) Yes I do mean that. This goes at the top of the three simply because it has the possibility of having an atmosphere drastically different from the latter based on the type of music presented from the two artists. The venue is  the Tabernacle. The day is the 14th, and the price on the tickets is 32.50 with a 24.50 special 4 pack price. Word to Jess you need to find another person to take to make four because I plan on taking Liz out with me that night, but shhhhh that's a secret still.

Second up is The Great Hangover Tour, featuring Asher Roth, Kid Cudi, B.o.B./Bobby Ray, and Pac Div. While also taking place at the Tabernacle, and featuring four of my favorite artists, the atmosphere has the potential to a crowd hopping, heart pounding, look at each other in excitement and high five type of vibe. I actually find this equally enjoyable to The Ecstatic Tour, but the chance to finally go to a concert with my boo with a romantic vibe pushes this one down by only .5 points under the top choice. The day is the 2nd, and the price is 25 for general admission with a 18.75 special 4 pack.

Lil Wayne // Drake // Young Jeezy // Soulja Boy
Last and not least by too much, is the tour featuring Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Drake, and Soulja Boy. While it features all good performers and promises for a good time, it just doesn't hold the appeal that the above two hold. Don't take this as me downing or hating on this concert, it's just that within the spectrum of my personal taste, this falls at the first cut level. I would love to go if I can, but things aren't looking to up for it being that the price is 29.50 for the cheapest. I don't even know where it's gonna be, but it does say amphitheater which is always promising.

Well that's my round up, leave a comment on how ya feel. Feedback is always a lovely thing.
