Three new videos in a row from three really good rappers? Yeah, it's a good day.

Knew there would be a video around the net sooner or later.

Mixt - An Atlanta Compilation

mixt.jpg
Since I've lived here in Atlanta for 3 years now, I like to rep the southern epicenter almost as hard as I rep New Orleans. When I say almost, I mean like the difference between a parent and a step parent. What I'm trying to say is, Atlanta is a pretty dope place with a lot of different scenes and all different types of people, and Creative Loafing and Criminal Records come together to showcase some underground Atlanta artist to the masses. To be honest I have never really listened to any of these dudes on here, but if it is dope, I'll be a fan. LINK

After listening to a couple of tracks, I've concluded that this is dope. I didn't know Atlanta had such a good rock scene. Sounds like something I've been wanting for a while.

Black Scale for Karmaloop

black scale karmaloop lookbook p2 1 Black Scale for Karmaloop Lookbook Part 2
I've always been a fan of Black Scale. Their whole aesthetic, and their wide variety of images from different cultures inspired me, and this is just reinforcing it. The photography is just classic with the natural scenery. I can't wait for Lochness to put his new stuff out, and if you know who I'm talking bout check out his new blog over on Hypebeast. Young dudes making good moves.

Apache Cafe Delivers

No I'm not talking about food delivery. Instead I'm talking about how they deliver with great great shows. Sure it was double what it usually is, but it was well, well worth it. First of all if any readers have never been able to go to the Apache Cafe on a Tuesday night with some good friends, you are truly missing out on something. The atmosphere is so much better than that of a regular 18+ club, which I'm sure many of us have been to, and paid ridiculous prices for something that you can get for free. Instead, the good people at Apache and I DO MUSIC keep it real with sick cyphers, crazy battles, and good performances, but last night all the patrons got a hell of a surprise for their 1st anniversary. Everyone already knew Raekwon The Chef was gonna go on stage and tear it down with the general attitude of any Wu member. Yes, I did just say Raekwon The Chef, Ice Water himself, but before the show even got started it was let known what new school heat was in the building with the announcement that Bobby Ray, a.k.a. B.o.B., and Mickey Facts, a.k.a. Mr. Incredible was gonna get on stage later in the night and rip the stage with some great masterful freestyles. They did not disappoint in the least.

And then the main event started around 12:45 or something like that. I don't really gotta explain how real that was while I was sitting on top of a speaker in the back of the club throwing up the W. Too bad I didn't have the camera, but sometimes not carrying that thing around, and just basking in the moment and letting your memory do the remembering is a great thing. I'm sure there will be some photos up on the intertube eventually.

P.S.
Shout out to Marks and Jessie for rolling with me. Dread head crew get down.

Say Aye

I can't help but like this song for some reason.

Good Day Photos

Since I've been pretty dormant in the past couple of days I've decided to just throw up some photos from the past three good days I've had.

It all started off with Amanda deciding that we should study at Moreland Ave. While we didn't necessarily study as much as we could have, we did have some good pizza.

The next day Jessie decided that it was too good of a day to be inside, so we hopped on our unmotorized two wheel vehicles, and ride to Centennial Park. Unfortunately rain swooped in like a monster and ruined the day. Luckily Jessie took us to Slice in my favorite back alley street. Savage Pizza was better though.

The day after that, Sarah took us to her house to chill, watch Grandma's Boy, and set up a fort.

That's officially a good three days right there.

Nike Presents "Onwards" by James Jarvis

Onwards from akqa on Vimeo.
This is a pretty cool animation by James Jarvis that's real trippy. Looked at it with mute on since I'm in class right now, but gotta do other things or I would fall asleep from the lack of just that. I'm rambling. Whatever

Cherry Bomb

There always something really cool about films that dramatize teen life to a dark side. This is why "Kids" has become a cult classic, and hopefully Cherry Bomb can be just as hard hitting, but doesn't leave such a bad aftertaste in your mouth. Oh, also good selling point. They have one third of the main kids from Harry Potter as a starring role. I know I'm not the only one who was waiting on these kids to get a more adult role.

Mongol

I just spotted this over at Triumvir's blog, and really wanna see it now. It may just be me, but it seems like Asians make the best movies.

Tune Yards - Hatari

So after missing the party(sorry I wasted $30 mom. I'll pay you back), going to sleep, and having one of the worst dreams in my entire life, I woke up to a great song that sounded like it came from a mix of Gorillaz plus a tribe somewhere. Thank god I kept my alarm set and always on Album 88(88.5) where they let you know what the track is after a bunch of other good tracks. Gotta love em.

Japanese Cartoon - Army

The Drawing Marathon Super Monster Fight

The drawing marathon has been going on for the past two days, and my class started a humungous drawing of a bunch of crazy monsters. The best thing about it though is that people came after us and drew all over it, and made it even better and crazier. Can't wait to see the final final product.
