Been Busy

Been busy with just college basically. Just be on the move a lot basically, and not a lot of sitting around. When I am sitting around I am usually hanging with people or playing Sim City 4 (sidenote I can't get no more money for my city I need help).

Been up on some new music:
Drake is one of my new favorite artists right now, check out (2)Dope Boyz for some tracks or just search on google. Make sure you check out Ransom.

Been really feeling fitteds lately, and since New Era is right down the block from where my math class is, it was only right to go cop something on my last compulsive buy(I promise mama). Since I mentioned it, I copped that new Mishka Death Adder fitted(fig 1). Very nice. Now I really want that Cmon Wealth fitted(fig 2). Hope the New Era spot got it.

Talking bout compulsive buys, well just trying to go to the next thing. I am feeling a more calm down style this fall. Ransom(fig 3), Reasonate(fig 4a-4b), and Alife(fig 5) doing some nice things.

Ear Candy DL

The Knux- Bang Bang
I am really feeling the brothers. Bringing something different out of my city, N.O. Love the mix of eclectic beats being mixed together from the down south guitar and the break beat. Really good shit, two thumbs up.

Ludacris feat T.I.- Wish You Would
Please remember the old battle between Luda and T.I. on the same track. Everyone gotta remember that Luda did win that with the last hit. Back to the subject at hand though. This track is pretty fucking crazy. I could picture getting buck as fuck to this.

The Game-Superman
Game kills this track. I am really hopeful to the rest of L.A.X. Most likely my next actual buy.

Curren$y- Incredible
Apparently this beat is the underground equal to A Milli, so you know Curren$y had to get on it and kill it. Can't wait for the next mixtape from a man better than Lil Wayne, yes I said it again. Always will say it.
Sidenote: You gotta love N.O. at this point. Look at what we making in this world. One natural disaster can't kill us.

Update: More Curren$y

BBC/Ice Cream 2008 Spring/Summer August Release

Of course this wasn't the only thing the people at BBC/Ice Cream dropped this month, but this was the one thing that caught my eye. Their simple take on a chuck is just beautiful. I'm pretty sure I can go see these in person at Standard, but that would just be a tease honestly. Expect a high price on these people.

Sidenote: Talking about Standard, if you in the area definitely go check out the Olympic Pack release party. If you trying to buy them thangs, go around 6. Opens at 7

Alife Fall/Winter 2008 Shell Toe

Alife revealed another new model for their Fall/Winter collection releasing soon, the Shell Toe. Mid sneaker featuring a suede upper and with a vulcanized sole plus some nice "A" tags on the tongue and back side. The skate sneaker inspired new model from Alife looks like it can make a nice second favorite for me behind the Everybody model.

Alife Fall/Winter 2008

Alife is starting to ship out it's new line of footwear. They continue to debut new models season after season, and this season they release the Chuck, based off of a Chukka boot, and the Court Cup, based off of Stan Smiths. Their best shoe still remains to be the Everybody. Classic dunk upper, with a classic vulcanized sole makes a classic shoe. Add in Alife's creativity. Gotta love it.

Favorite Brand Watch

Found some pretty interesting stuff these past couple of days. All with one thing in common too, they all in some way relate to my love of clothes and the culture behind them. Culture meaning inspiration behind the collections and also the people.

1st
King Stampede has a new website up with a blog and my personal favorite thing ever, Stampede Radio. Some really cool tunes on there. Definitely check it out when you get the chance.

2nd
Rockersnyc is putting out a new collection called, "Loud is Silent". Each piece in the cut and sew collection features, silent luxury quality and loud, colorful prints. In my opinion Rockers are really a step ahead of most other brands with quality. Really wish I could get my hands on that leather jacket. The Collection will be shipping this September(means save that money).

3rd
Digital Gravel just released a tour around the Mishka offices. Really cool visuals and really high rating of geekness.

Octagon Quilted High Dunk

These new Nike Dunks caught my eye since they are a lot more simple compared to previous designs I've seen from Nike(mostly SB). The killer whale of sneaker companies(at least stateside) has switched up their usual design qualities for a monochrome style in red, blue, and black. Different materials have also been added to the upper of the shoe making it even better. My personal equation for good sneakers at the moment is a primary color or black and white for the main color or only color, one or two other colors in the shoe, and nice material. Still have to see these in person if I am lucky enough to get these in a store near me. I'll keep ya posted on that though.

Who's Going to Save my Soul Now

Rhythm Footwear U.S. Launch Soon

Check out Complex magazine website today, and saw that Rhythm Footwear was getting ready to launch in the U.S. I've been looking forward to these shoes since I first saw them on zozo town. Too bad they only ship within Japan. Can't wait to get my hands on a pair of sandwich lo's or some bagels(yes that is what the shoes are called).

first two pictures are of the sandwich hi's

My Life by Game ft Lil Wayne

Game follows up his past singles with his new single, My Life. He lets his emotions out on this track. Some may dislike Game for different things, such as name dropping, but the man has talent and speaks how he feels. How many people thought the song would be about jewelry, cars, drugs, and stuff like that? Be honest.

New Vault Vans at Standard

Standard got the new shipment of Vault Vans recently, and you have to at least see these in person. The white eras further down feature reflective 3M laces. So go check it out, maybe even get a pair or two or three, hell if you're a big money guy buy a pair of each, even the women. Yeah that's right, Standard actually got some more women stuff in.

People say I'm crazy, but you gotta be raving if you wear these honestly.

New Supra NS drop

For those that don't know Supra NS is the Non Skate and more fashion orientated line for the brand(that is why of the heavy price tag). Even those they are still some models from the skate side of things being used, to me the main silhouettes to my liking are the ones that originated with the NS line(at least in my knowledge correct me if I'm wrong here). To be honest I don't like many Supras, but the red and black four strapped shoe, and the slip on with the fat tongue really caught my eye. Check out Wish if you wanna get these off of the internet and you're located in The A.

Bonde do Role

I found these guys from a mixture of one song being featured on a video game and also on The Vice guide to Travel for Brazil. After some searching(not much gotta love google) I found the group I was looking for. Bonde do Role. I just wanna figure out the raunchy stuff they be saying in it, and play it at a party one day.

Stussy Summer 08 Fedoras

Not that I don't like fitteds, but I always loved how fedoras look. Hopefully I can get one in my size to fit my dreads.

Beginning of the End 2008 F/W Collection and Interview

Three cornerstones of streetwear segment and their common interests inevitably founded their latest fashion venture, Beginning of the End. Between the likes of Greg Johnsen, Sean Reverson and Dan Payne, the three boast accolades and accomplishments including the founding of Gourmet, Hall of Fame, Snafu, RockersNYC and Clarendon. With a solid foundation beneath them, the three strive to draw their respective influences and views into an interesting and fresh perspective which hits stores later this year with the debut of their 2008 fall/winter collection inspired by 1980’s dancehall imagery.

Stussy X Boneyards Group 2

Having seen a formidable release from the highly anticipated Boneyards collection last weekend it is great to see more great things are to come. Take a look at some of the exceptional pieces that include the Nike Terminator among some great shirts and much more interesting pieces which are on the way with Group 2 of the collection set to release on July 19.
