Nice Day to Find Something New

The above photo has nothing to do with the rest of the post, it's just a great photo my girl, Liz took. That's @camefromnowhere and Liz Avent on flickr

Please forgive me for my absence from the internet, but I forgot how necessary it is to have a digital presence in these twitter times. The days prior to this beautiful Sunday were nap filled due to growing and disappearing agonizing pains running throughout my mouth from a traumatizing wisdom teeth operation. Since I was steadily becoming bored with the GSU Common complex, I decided to force myself and the lovely Liz out into the world to walk one of the many Peachtree Streets in Atlanta. This was not too hard due to the fact that the Georgia flip flop weather was in full affect, while the day before was somewhat bleak and sunless, the following day before Monday was completely opposite.

Adding to the wonderful day, the Miss and I stumbled upon an amazingly comfortable vintage store located right next to my favorite health destroying restaurant, The Vortex for those that don't know, in Midtown Atlanta. Even though the sign read Runway, the owner stated that they were having the sign changed, since they were not officially opened yet, and the official name was My! My! My!. While I don't want to jump the gun that this will become Liz's favorite store, it is very well possible since it is much more relaxed in mood but eccentric in wears and accessories fitting her style personally. Expect more from there earlier since we were invited to a grand opening party.
Sorry for the lovey dovey stuff, but I love this picture since I took it so awesomely in a foot mirror.
The bracelet Liz bought, this was one of the first times I've actually seen her just randomly buy something other than food. I guess I'm rubbing off on her. That's all for today, peace brethren.

Picking Up Speed

The Art by you.
Being that this is the last official weekend of summer before I move back into the crazy system of every young adult's dream and nightmare that is college, it is turning out to be an all together good time with a little mix of realization and great ideas. I'm not gonna get into everything in complete description, but the main details can be seen as something much more interesting than an episode of TMZ.
The Business by you.
Lookie Here by you.
After a roaring night of good fun in College Park with some Atl weirdos on Wednesday, and finally getting my financial aid situated, Jess hit me up wanting to finally put down plans into writing. I know it may seem a bit of foolish, but up to this point I have failed to fully put down everything into number and dates. Luckily I meet such cool people that become my very close friends, and then hopefully business partners like Jess here. Where I'm more artistically knowledged, she understands business a lot more than my no job experience mind. After it was all said and done though, the two of us came up with same really good ideas that I am anxiously awaiting to premier to the world, but just like me everyone reading this has to wait till around September when things start to really start going off.
Death by you.
Greasy Fatty Death by you.
Being that Jess and I were at Piedmont Park, in the vicinity of the notorious seller of the greasy, fatty, disgustingly, delicious awesomeness that is The Double Bypass Burger, The Vortex, and the fact that Jess had both forms of identification, we decided to take a little stroll. I won't go into full detail, but I believe when a homeless man can see the opposite of hunger, whatever that word may be, but it was a bit more than satisfied. I'm talking full on Man V Food, competition eating type of stuffed that doesn't even occur at Thanksgiving due to all of the grease presented within the behemoth of a burger. I'm getting hunger pains just from memory, and I believe at one point my heart did literally stop.
The Duo by you.
AIA by you.
Being that we are on the subject of good and bad ideas, I don't know what I was thinking when I tagged along with Dee and her mean trip to AIA to compare it to SCAD. I felt completely horrible taking advantage of the guy giving us the tour thinking we were prospective students. All in all though it was like nearly every time I've hung with that crazy little geek; a con-cation of bad, angry driving, clumsiness, and good heartfelt conversation. Now I'm gonna go get ready to go see Funny People after talking my brother out of going to go see GI Joe. Now that's a movie I will bootleg.

J R K

Sounds like a new fashion label, and from these pics it very well could be. Behind the scene/preview pictures of Run This Town. Yes I do feel like Jay is looking very awkward in most of the photos, and yes I put Rihanna first because she is looking sexy as shit. Wonder what's under the hoodie.

Been Away for a While

Sorry for the hiatus, but I've had a crazy past weeks. My technology has been failing to the point where I think it's a "simultaneous breakage point", but I'm about to get over that foothill soon. Once that is overcame, a bigger mountain of looking and getting a job is presented. Even though the job discussion is not the prime subject at hand, I just want to say that will be conqoured in some way before summer's done.

New Haircut by you.
First off biggest change so far is the hair. Ever since I chopped off the hair last Sunday, I've been feeling great. A weight has been lifted off of my shoulders and neck literally. I've also found that when you change your appearance in a way unexpected, it gets the best reactions. Most people c0uldn't even imagine me at my present state, but it feels so good just to make a change of appearance. I must say I do look devilshy handsome too.
Bored as hell by you.
Another great thing about the summer is the clique being back together. Some stayed around the city like Thara and I, but most everybody else went a little bit out of town if not to a whole different region of the U.S. Monai for example went to Valdosta, and to say I have no idea how it is out there would be a understatement. This is the the basic crew on most nights though. Thara, Pash, Monai, DJ, and I are bout to take over the world I can bet you that.

The main reason I've been gone away from the blog was my recent visit to New Orleans to see the family and where I was born and raised. Everytime I return to my birthplace, I'm reminded of the beauty that is not present anywhere else. There's that one feeling where even though things are so wrong in the wideview, but feels so right in your heart, and I've never felt it stronger than in New Orleans. When the heart feels right the next best thing is to get the stomach feeling full, and where's a better place to do that than a city that offers snoballs with flavors like "Tiger's Blood" "Silver Fox", and bout 50 more. Just thinking about it is getting me all hungry. I can't wait to go back in July for the one year anniversary of my baby boy.

Young Generation by you.1940 something vintage varsity by you.
Now this right here is EXTREMELY special. This is the first St. Augustine Varsity Jacket given to my grandfather, Elliot Labat Sr, in 1949 if I'm not mistaken. My eyes opened up wide as I saw it's purple material, and the first thing to mind was "I gotta have it". Too bad it's going up in the Hall of Fame. I know it's honorable, but I would defiantly love to repair the seams and rock it out like it's brand new. Guess I'll have to wait till I use it as inspiration. That day will be great.

The Best Night Ever

Had a fair day in my classes today, but the day really picked up when it was basically night. It started off with going to the special screening of Observe and Report. That really set the mood right for the night.

After going back to the dorm room, I decided to start my drawing homework. Instead of really trying to draw out what I was trying to do, I just did it. It's a little hard to explain if you don't already understand, but basically it means you just naturally get it. Everybody has something like this.

Before I had even thought of starting  my homework, Marks had basically talked me going into Apache. It was a good decision in the end. Good performances, good atmosphere, had my batgirl there with me.

All the chilling definitely left me and Mrs. Pac-man hungry so we decided to go into the Landmark with a couple of minutes before closing, and found the funniest sign ever. I don't remember it for verbatim, but it had something to do with somebody named Vincent and his lost social security card, and how big of a dork he is. Really though, who brings a social security just lying around. Wake up with a million dollar debt on that ass. Anyway the gyro(me) and hamburger and fries(Liz) really hit the spot.

And just to put something up because the more I draw the more I am stoked about it.
